Not in minutes but moments - moments that wedge themselves between days and weeks and milestones. For the first time in our lives, we wish for time to stand still.

The Name:
Aleko is Greek in origin, a variation of Alexandros, with the meaning, “Defender of humankind.” Emmanuel signifies “God is with us” (Matthew 1:23), and is the name of the child predicted in Isaiah 7:14: “Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and His name shall be called Emmanuel.” True to his name, we took Aleko home at 12:01 a.m. on the 25th of December.
